Word Of God Church - Peoria

Word of God Church | America 250

Faith, family, and community are an important part of what makes Peoria home. I was grateful to visit Word of God Church in Peoria alongside my husband, Rev. Dr. Staccato K. Powell II, as the congregation gathered in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary.

It was a wonderful opportunity to fellowship with the church’s Pastor Lee Wiley and the First Lady, connect with members of the congregation, and celebrate the faith and community institutions that continue to bring people together.

Community is built through relationships, and I’m committed to showing up, listening, and building those relationships throughout Peoria.

Antioch Church Of God In Christ - Peoria

Somos Peoria - Soultify Concert

22nd Church Anniversary

We were honored to join Dr. Jonathan E. Logan, First Lady Christine Logan, and the Antioch Church of God in Christ congregation in fellowship and celebration. For three decades, Antioch has been part of the Peoria community, building a legacy of faith, discipleship, and service.

It was also a special opportunity to share with the congregation the announcement of my campaign for Peoria City Council, Pine District.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Somos Peoria - Soultify Concert

A beautiful evening celebrating the cultures, traditions, and people that make our community so special. We loved connecting with neighbors with roots in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, and throughout Latin America.

Coming from a culturally diverse family with South American roots of her own through Suriname, moments like these are especially meaningful to Joysaphine. Our cultures and histories are unique, but community means seeing, respecting, celebrating, and showing up for each other.

Different cultures. Different stories. One Peoria. This is how we prosper TOGETHER
